Thursday

1. Today we continued practicing Proofreading Marks with our bellringer. We have a quiz over them tomorrow.

2. We spent the first half of class learning/reviewing how to plan our writing. We talked about T-charts, outlines, and color-coding (see notes).

3. We spent the second half of class learning/reviewing four types of Topic Sentences to open our paragraphs. We practiced writing Simple Declarative Sentences (SDS), Number Statements (NS), Situation, Stance Sentences (S,S), and FANBOYS Sentences with coordinating conjunctions (see notes). We chose one sentence for our Topic Sentence and another for our Conclusion. Tomorrow we will draft and revise our Paul Revere paragraphs.
