1. This week's grammar bellringer is about homophones, words that sound the same but are spelled different.

2. Then, we had an American Revolution simulation. We learned some background knowledge about the events in Boston that led up to the start of the Revolutionary War. Tomorrow we'll start our novel, which takes place in the spring of 1776.

3. We ended class by finishing up our Write Tools paragraphs. We edited our rough drafts using the correct proofreading marks for conventions such as spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. We rewrote our final drafts in our notebooks and turned them in.
