1. We started week 4: Capitalization practice. Quiz will be on Friday. (click for bellringer practice).
2. Today we reviewed what a literary analysis is (what I think and why I think it). We also talked about the 3 parts to any analysis: 1) introduce your claim (what you think) 2) support it with evidence from the text 3) explaining your reasoning (why you think it). We compared how this is the same process for science writing Claim/Evidence/Reasoning.
3. In the second half, we looked at examples of our classmates literary analysis answers for Chains. In table groups, we tried to decipher what their claim was, what evidence they were using to support that claim, and what their reasoning was for their claim. We often found vague claims and irrelevant evidence. We'll continue this tomorrow in hopes it will help us strengthen our analysis questions in the future.
