1. This week our bellringer practice is about types of verbs. Today we discussed the difference between action verbs and linking verbs (click for this week's practice).

2. In the first half of our block we discussed what a functional, healthy small group discussion looks like and then we practiced discussing our analysis questions from last week about WHY Lady Seymour and Madam Lockton treated Isabel so differenty.

3. In the second half of our block we read Chains pages 157-176

4. Today begins Vocabulary Bowl season! From October 1st through April 30th schools from all across the country will compete online to see who can master the most vocabulary words. Each month the school with the highest word count will receive a banner for their school. At the end of April, the school with the highest word count will receive a trophy for their school. This is the first year Algona Middle School 8th graders are participating, and I'm excited to see how well we do!
