1. We started class with our quiz over types of verbs.
2. We reviewed and collected the questions over Hughes's poem "Let America Be America Again" focusing on how Hughes and Isabel would see each other's situations.
3. We headed back into our novel, Chains, to read pages 177-205 and to answer the following analysis question using RICE strategy: Predict what you think will happen to Curzon as a prisoner of the British army. Support your answer with text evidence and reasoning.
4. Final reminder to turn in any research paragraphs that are late. We'll do revisions and turn in final drafts on Monday. Then we'll start our second research paragraph next week.
5. Late work reports were handed out on Monday. Students have until next Friday (13th) to complete and submit any of that work before they turn to zeros in the gradebook. Reminder there is an early out Wednesday with Late Work completion from 1:45-4:30 next Wednesday (11th).
I enjoyed seeing several students and their parents/guardians at conferences this week. Have a great weekend!
