1. This week our bellringer is diagraming sentences. We're reviewing the parts of a sentence that we've covered so far this year and today we learned how to diagram subjects and predicates.

2. We started our essay research today. We selected topics and found our first research source. We used the website credibility checklist to verify it was a valid site, then we made a source card for the article, and began taking notes from it. We decided our research should focus around the following 3 questions (which can later become our paragraph topics). 1- General overview of topic: what is it? what does it look like? how does it work? 2 - Narrow down to specifics: who is most affected? who is most likely to commit the oppression? what areas are most affected or the oppression is most likely to take place? 3 - Possible solutions: what groups or organizations are actively working to end this oppression? how are they trying to end it? what methods are working? what more needs to be done?
