Wed 1-3 to Fri 1-5

Wednesday

On our first day back from break, we made our New Year's Reading Resolutions. We discussed ways to read more books in 2018 and logged onto Bookopolis.com using our Google accounts. Our assignment by Friday was to add 5 books to our "Want to Read" shelf and check out a free reading book to bring to class on Friday. Starting on Friday, 1-12 we'll spend time free reading after our bellringer quizzes.

Thursday

1. We started our bellringer for the rest of this week and all of next week. We're reviewing dependent (subordinate) clauses. Quiz on Friday, 1-12.

2. We then looked at vocabulary terms for Edgar Allan Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart." The link for the vocabulary set is on Google Classroom.

3. Then we read/listened to the story (click here for Thu/Fri notes)

Friday

1. We continued our bellringer practice on dependent clauses

2. We spent some time answering 10 questions (handout) over "The Tell-Tale Heart" story.

3. We then watched a short video adaptation and compared/contrasted it with the text.
