1. Bellringer practice this week is subordinate clauses. Today we practiced using IXL Level J (8th grade) A.12 for 10 minutes.

2. Next, we defined the terms JURY and PEERS and discussed the benefit of a jury by peers as opposed to simply a trial by judge (page 6 in your packet). Each set of partners was handed a defendant and the crime they were charged with. In pairs, look through the list of potential jurors (page 7) and decide which ones to eliminate and which to select (page 8). Then define PROSECUTION and DEFENSE.

3. Finally, we took a look at character descriptions for each of the 12 Jurors we'll be meeting in our play (page 9). We read the descriptions, looking at our own character and then made predictions on which character we think will say the quotes on page 10 and give a reason for our prediction.
