Welcome to the first day of 2nd semester! You're halfway finished with your 8th grade year!!

1. The bellringer lesson for this AND next week is Sentence Types Two. We'll be identifying complex and compound-complex sentences. This is a review of 7th grade learning targets, but can be tricky. There is a practice worksheet that was passed out today (extras can be found in the copies section of the student command center) and is due on Friday, 1-26 - the same day as the quiz. 2. Today we are comparing Act I from the play 12 Angry Men with the 1957 film. We using a compare/contrast chart on page 14 of our packets. You need to find 3 items in the "Play Only" column, 6 items in the "BOTH" column, and 3 items in the "Film Only" column.

3. The Elements of the Courtroom quiz was supposed to be last Thursday, but has been rescheduled for tomorrow due to the snow day last week. The diagram can be found on page 5 of the packet, and the link to the vocabulary set can be found on Google Classroom.
