Top Secret Mission (2-5-18)

1. Today we continued our Verb Problems bellringer practice with day 4. I also handed out the Verb Problems practice worksheet and we spent some class time working on it with our table groups. The practice sheet is due this Friday (2-9) right before the weekly quiz.

2. Make-ups: We had a lot of students out last week for flu, and it was a very busy week with Unit 2 tests and Unit 2 monologue performance tasks. If you missed either one of those last week, the make-up day is this Friday (2-9) during the B block. Please have your monologues ready to perform.

3. We started our new unit today! Unit 3 is titled: Change in America and is focused on a variety of text genres about the Vietnam War. We looked at the unit's learning targets and ranked ourselves on a 1-4 scale for each of the learning targets. We also looked at the texts we'll be using this unit and the terms and vocabulary.

4. We started our Vietnam unit off with a background knowledge self-assessment (page 1 of the new packet). Then, in table groups, we participated in a secret mission to decode several cyphers and puzzles to learn more about the Vietnam War.
