Some Real Letters

1. We started the day with review Lang HW Monday.

2. Then, we watched another clip from Dear America: Letters Home from Vietnam.

3. Next, we read some real letters from American soldiers during the Vietnam War (click here for today's reading). On page 19 in our green reading packets, there is a compare & contrast chart for the fiction novel Fallen Angels and the real letters we read today. After completing the chart, we composed a Write Tools compare OR contrast paragraph to describe the similarities or the differences between the two texts.

4. Be sure to start with a Name It (author & text names) Verb it (see page 35 in your pink workbook for verbs) Big Idea (similarities OR differences) topic sentence. Follow that up with 2-3 similarities OR differences and provide text evidence for each one. Due Wednesday @ 3:30pm on Google Classroom.
