Due to the wild and crazy weather, all the blocks ended at a different place on Monday. Here's where we all need to be by the end of Wednesday:

1. For Thursday's class, Language HW days Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday should be completed.

2. We listened to 5 different songs from the 1960s and 1970s. The lyrics are in our green packets starting on page 22. Audio recordings for the songs are in the slide deck from Monday (click here for notes). First, read the lyrics of the song and answer the "First Listen" questions. Next, listen to the song and answer the "Second Listen" questions.

3. On Wednesday, we read through page 27 of our green packets. We analyzed the prompt and completed the GAPS section.

Genre: analysis paragraph; indented; NVB (name it, verb it, big picture) topic sentence, big ideas from the prompt jot dots, supporting details with direct quotes from the song as text evidence, and a conclusion sentence

Audience: anyone interested or unaware about 1960s & 70s Vietnam era songs; written at an 8th grade level

Purpose: to inform and analyze

: semi-formal (professional tone) and objective language
